I attended the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra‘s 175th Subscription Concert at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.
I have fond memories of the Tatsuya Shimono x TKWO collaborations from the 2000s. Since I also frequently go to his performances, I had been eagerly anticipating this event. I am so glad it went ahead safely despite the typhoon!
Right from the opening, Incantation and Dance, the smooth flow and richly contoured music-making left a strong impression. The brilliant programming, which paired ‘Dance’ with ‘Symphony No. 2’, really brought the whole concert together perfectly.
I would absolutely love to hear this partnership perform again!
