Listened to Japan Philharmonic Orchestra the 740th subscription concert at Suntory Hall, Tokyo.
Kahchun Wong conducted this concert. Ritmica Ostinata per pianoforte ed orchestra by Akira Ifukube was vivid and exciting! Symphony No.4 by Gustav Mahler was so colourful. I felt the communication between the maestro and orchestra was deeper than the previous one that Mahler 5th was performed.
His installation as the principal conductor of the JPO in September 2023 has been announced last week. Looking forward JPO and Kahchun’s concerts!
