Listened to Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra the 151st Subscription Concert at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.
TKWO is having the 60th-anniversary concert tour conducted by Maestro Ooi Takeshi with today’s repertoire which includes Holst’s First Suite, Lincolnshire Posy, and Mr Hiroshi Hoshina’s new symphony commissioned by TKWO. Each piece which has different character shows the outstanding ability and musicality of TKWO at present.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to write too much now as there are six more concerts. The concert was almost full-house under social-distanced seat arrangement, which showed the band people’s expectations for this programme.
The ensemble density would be improved even more through the tour. I might want to listen to the last concert in Niigata.
I highly recommend going to the concert if TKWO goes to your area!
