Listened to Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra the 157th Subscription Concert at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre on 26th February.
It was the last concert under the current administration for the band. The concert repertoire was quite heavy. Two symphonies, Alfred Reed’s Armenian Dances Part I & II and Franco Cesarini’s e Archangels were performed as well as La mer pleine de joie, the premiere of the piece by Jun Nagao commissioned by TKWO. Nagao’s vague sound created by a lot of voices made a contrast to two symphonies, which was very impressive as well.
TKWO kept an exciting performance till the very end of such a tough concert!
