Listened to the Tokyo Geidai Wind Orchestra Concert at Sogakudo, Tokyo University of Arts, last night.
The concert repertoire had a wide variety. I enjoyed them with amazingly high-quality performance. It was a good experience to listen to a delicate and profound trombone solo by Olaf Ott. The concert flow of four Grainger pieces to a contemporary by Fumio Tamura was interesting too!
Let me write a digression, “Danse folâtrre performed by Tokyo Geidai” recalls its concert at the Midwest Clinic in 2016. American audiences held their breath and focused on the stage. Eight years have passed already, it seems a lot of the then students are very active in the music scene!
